Stay where Osaka actually lives
Himejima is not a tourist quarter. It’s a normal Osaka neighbourhood — a supermarket, a shrine, a river bank, people walking home from the station.
Our house sits in the middle of it. Two floors and a rooftop, the whole place to yourselves, up to four people.
Umeda is ten minutes away on a local train. But most of what we’d want to show you is within a few minutes’ walk of the front door.
The House
Two floors and a roof, all of it yours
43 m², one bedroom and a sofa bed downstairs — up to four people. There is a balcony off the bedroom where the washing machine lives, and a rooftop terrace above that. The whole house is non-smoking, and dogs and cats are welcome.

A three-minute walk from the train
Himejima Station is on the Hanshin Main Line, three minutes away on foot, and Osaka-Umeda is ten minutes from there on a local train. The supermarket everyone uses is three or four minutes away, the shrine is at the end of the street, and the river bank is about a minute from the front door.

Before you book
What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in is from 16:00, and check-out is by 10:00.
How do I check in?
Self check-in. The instructions reach you through the booking site before you arrive.
What do you need from us at check-in?
The names of everyone staying, and photo ID. Osaka City’s ordinance for this type of accommodation requires us to keep a guest register and to check identification, so this applies to every guest.
Is there a minimum stay?
Yes — two nights.
How many people can stay?
Up to four. The house is 43 m²: one bedroom upstairs with two single beds, plus a double sofa bed downstairs.
Can we bring a dog or a cat?
Yes — but please tell us when you book. We aren’t able to accept pets that weren’t mentioned in advance. The pet fee changes with the season, so please check the current amount on Airbnb or Booking.com.
Is there parking?
Not at the house. There is plenty of coin parking nearby, most of it around ¥500 for 24 hours.
Can we smoke?
The whole house is non-smoking.
How do we get there from the airport?
From Kansai Airport it is about an hour and a half with one change; from Itami, about an hour. The routes are written out on Getting Here.
