The short version
Himejima Station, Hanshin Main Line. Three minutes on foot.
One thing to memorise before you travel: only local trains stop at Himejima. Limited express, express and rapid express trains go straight past. When you board a Hanshin train, make sure it says Local.
We share the exact address once your booking is confirmed.
From Kansai International Airport (KIX)
Our pick — one change, about 1 hr 20–30 min, around ¥1,340
1. Take the JR Kansai-Airport Rapid and stay on it to Fukushima (about 70 minutes, ¥1,210). No reserved ticket needed.
2. Come up to street level and walk about 300 m, six minutes, to Hanshin Fukushima — a different station with the same name, underground.
3. Take a Hanshin Local three stops to Himejima (about 5 minutes).
4. Three minutes on foot from there.
Note: JR Fukushima and Hanshin Fukushima are separate stations. We haven’t confirmed whether the walk between them is step-free, so if you need lifts, tell us and we’ll suggest another way.
With a lot of luggage — about 1 hr 20 min, around ¥2,000
Limousine bus to Osaka Station (Umeda) (about 60 minutes, ¥1,800; bags go in the hold), then a Hanshin Local from Osaka-Umeda to Himejima (7 minutes, ¥200).
From Osaka-Itami Airport (ITM)
About 50 minutes to an hour, around ¥930
Limousine bus to Osaka Station (Umeda) (about 30 minutes, ¥730), then a Hanshin Local to Himejima (7 minutes, ¥200). Bags go in the hold, so this is the easiest route with a large suitcase.
The airport bus runs from about 7:55 until 21:30.
Arriving late
If you can leave Kansai Airport by train at 23:09, you can still reach us by train the same night — arriving at Himejima at 00:27, changing at Fukushima, around ¥1,340.
Later than that, get to Umeda first and take a taxi from there: roughly ¥1,900 and about 17 minutes. Between 22:00 and 05:00, fares rise, so allow around ¥2,300.
If you think you’ll be arriving late, please message us in advance.
Arriving very early
The first trains out of Kansai Airport leave at around 5:45–5:50 and get you to Himejima between about 6:58 and 7:09.
Times and fares on this page were checked in September 2026. Timetables and fares are revised from time to time, so please confirm before you travel.
Coming by car
There is no parking at the house. There are, however, plenty of coin parking lots nearby, most of them around ¥500 for 24 hours — so a car is no great problem here. Rates and availability vary from lot to lot, so check on the day.
Before you book: about the noise
We’d rather tell you this now than have you discover it on arrival.
The house stands near a railway line and an expressway. From the daytime through the evening you will hear trains going past and traffic on the road — not faintly in the distance, but as part of the background. If complete silence is the thing you care about most, this may not be the right house for you.
We have done what we can. In the upstairs bedroom, we fitted a second, polycarbonate window by hand — because the noise bothered us too. It doesn’t take the sound away altogether, but it softens it a good deal in the room where you sleep.
And the trains stop. From around 1 a.m. until about 5 a.m. there are no trains at all, so the hours you most want to sleep through are the quiet ones.
How much noise bothers a person varies from one guest to the next. If you have any concerns at all, message us before you book — we’ll give you an honest answer.
A few other practical things
- Self check-in. Instructions come through the booking site before you arrive.
- The whole house is non-smoking.
- Insects. Given where the house sits, they do sometimes get in during the summer months. We hope you’ll bear with us.
- Up to four guests. 43 m², one bedroom plus a sofa bed downstairs.
- Questions. Message us through Airbnb or Booking.com — before you book or during your stay, either is fine.
